Mark Meadows is a freelance bass player based in Los Angeles, CA doing tours, sessions, music production, teaching, clinics and local gigs. This son of a preacher man, born and raised in the beautiful state of KY, brings to the stage an intense funky/rock bass style matched with an eye-catching stage presence that draws you in from the start.

In Sept. '07 Mark ended a six years of touring the world with the legendary Edgar Winter Band. His other performance/recording credits include such great artists as... Johnny "Guitar" Watson (on tour from '95 'til Watson's death in '96), Brian Auger's Oblivion Express ('97-2000 and summer '06 US tour), Roseanne (2001 TV talkshow band and show theme music w/ Dweezil Zappa), Queen Latifa, Eric Burdon, Steve Lukather, Tommy Henricksen (pop rock), Barbara Morrison (jazz vocalist), Meredith Brooks (with Meredith from the start of her '97 world tour, they opened for the Rolling Stones, performed on the main stage of the first two Lilleth Fair tours and appeared on TV shows all over the world...after playing on Meredith's second Capitol CD "Deconstruction," Mark was made musical director for the '99 tour), The Motels featuring Martha Davis, Keith Emerson, Bobby Kimball (Toto), Bonnie Raitt, Kelly Rowlands (Destiny's Child), Buck Dharma (B.O.C.), Dobie Grey, Dawn Robinson (En Vogue), Bebe Wynans, Dave Stewart (The Eurythmics), Clarence Clemens (E Street Band), The Main Ingredient, John Waite, guitar great Les Dudek, Buzz Feiten, Ken Navarro (smooth jazz), Cathrine McPhee, Wayne Newton, Greg Allman, Gavin Degraw, Michael Thompson (L.A. '06), Dweezil Zappa (Mark did tracks on his CDs "Automatic" and "Go With What You Know"), as well as recording sessions for Nickelodeon shows "Chalkzone" and "Fairly Odd Parents" and other commercial sponsors (Suzuki, Plymouth, Ford, and most recently for the General Motors '05 Dealers conference in Las Vegas with an all-star lineup), TV networks including NBC, Fox Sport West and the spring 2003 inprov/sitcom "On The Spot" (WB Network) where Mark was in the band on the show with Dweezil Zappa. In late '03 Mark and keyboard man Fred Kron got together to produce the soundtrack for the independent film "Yard Sale" which has won awards at film festivals in the U.S. In early 2006 Mark recorded and did the video for a recent release by internaional Persian star Andy. Summer of '06 had Meadows joining forces with L.A. session ace Michael Thompson to perform tracks from his latest solo CD. This led to a call to join what was billed as "L.A. Supper Session" featuring M.T. and Buzz Feiten (with Greg Mathieson on keys and Nate Morton of Rockstar INXS/Supernova and Rock the Cradle on drums) for a week of gigs at the Blue Note in Tokyo. Not long after the Michael Thompson Group was formed featuring MT, Rocket Richotte, Nate Morton and the Basscowboy on bass and lead vocal (see "tour dates" for L.A. shows). Mark's own band Sector 7-G (featuring some smokin' L.A. musicians) took it's maiden voyage in Feb. '06 performing songs from his upcoming CD "Cowboy Jazz" and a couple of Jaco covers.

Mark's background covers rock, funk, jazz, pop, fusion, country, gospel and blues. With some help from his fellow L.A. musicians, Mark is near completion of his first solo CD "Cowboy Jazz," which will feature many great artists. He calls it "jazz for joe-sixpack." The CD will be available soon.
